Back in 2009 Nick and Katie Spurr started their journey into ice cream by visiting the National Ice Cream Exhibition in Harrogate. They soon followed up by visiting Bologna, Longarone and Rimini to learn the passion and craft of ice cream making. After converting the old chandlery in their boatyard into their ice cream parlour they launched Spurreli boutique ice cream and have never looked back. 
"Here at Spurreli we offer an extensive and changing range of flavours in both dairy and non dairy, linking in to the seasons with a choice of Illy coffee prepared by trained baristas, Italian wines and beer, soft drinks and freshly baked scones and cakes.
Spurreli has become a multi award winning regional brand with numerous national awards from The Guild of fine food Great Taste Awards and the ICA national ice cream competition. To be awarded top ice cream parlour in the UK by tripadvisor was a real accolade. Spurreli are members of the Ice Cream Alliance (ICA) and comply with the ICA compositional requirements for manufacturing, and have maintained our 5 STAR food hygiene rating throughout our operation and consider our business as community partners through our support of many local schools and charity fundraising and our primary sponsorship of the Amble good citizens award and a local junior football team.
The parlour is constantly innovating and enhancing our offering by introducing new ice cream flavours and treats that satisfy our customer's evolving appetite for new food experiences 
 
Wholesome, hearty home prepared soups served through the winter months - whilst throughout the year remaining true to our ‘sweet’ roots."

Here's a little taster of what our lovely customers are saying about us...
Even on a cold February day we had to go in and have some of their lovely ice-cream. Tried lime and coconut, lovely! All the staff friendly and helpful as usual. Love what they have done outside with the covered seating area and a proper ramp for wheelchair access. Heaters too so were able to sit in the winter sun and stay warm, whilst eating ice-cream and watch the world go by. Perfect. Will be back soon.

Excellent vegan chocolate ice-cream.!!! I've only experienced diary free ice-cream this good twice, once in Italy itself and once on London. This was an amazing find. My hubby agreed the normal ice-cream was of high creamy quality. Highly recommended for dairy free ice-cream. I also saw on the counter, two homemade great looking gluten free cakes. Lots of space to sit outside.

Very polite staff, will do their utmost to help you or even advise on all their many flavours of ice cream, cakes and coffees. They serve illy coffee here. Lovely seating area and expanding. They have a restroom here also. Lovely little place to have a coffee and natter with friends or a stop off whilst venturing around Amble. You have to try the local ice cream made in the parlour itself which you can see being made whilst you're choosing your ice cream. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Amble.
